
IT Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled IT professional to join our team as a Service Desk Operator.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing efficient and effective IT support to our organization, troubleshooting issues and fulfilling requests raised through the service desk, and working with or escalating matters to specialist staff/vendors to ensure quick resolutions are achieved and service levels are met.
About the RoleThis is an entry-level position, ideal for someone looking to start their career in IT. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, receiving training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
The position is a full-time 12-month contract, based on a 38-hour working week. The successful applicant will also be required to provide after hours' support to staff on a rostered basis.
Key Responsibilities- Provide efficient and effective IT support to our organization
- Troubleshoot issues and fulfill requests raised through the service desk
- Work with or escalate matters to specialist staff/vendors as required
- Previous experience in an IT support role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Sound knowledge of existing and emergent technologies
- Sound knowledge of IT Service Management principles and frameworks such as ITIL
- Tertiary qualifications in IT or similar or a willingness to study (desirable)
- Experience in the financial services industry (desirable)
