Job Title: Strategic Planner

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Planner to join our team at Charterhouse. As a key member of our Strategic Planning and Economic Development team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing housing and transport strategies for our local government area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement housing and transport strategies to increase the efficiency of planning decisions in well-located areas.
  • Manage externally grant-funded projects/programs, including preparation of submissions, acquittal of funds, and management of reporting requirements.
  • Conduct research and analysis, including data collation, of all transport-related development precincts in the local government area.
  • Provide expert advice on strategic housing and transport planning matters to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Manage all aspects of the Housing Support Program Grant, including project plans, financial management, procurement, coordination, and internal and external reporting requirements.
Requirements:
  • Degree in urban planning, urban development, environment, urban economics, public or social policy, or a related field.
  • Significant relevant work experience, including management of private sector professional services contractors and/or consultants in a public sector context.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement, tendering, and contractual dispute resolution processes.
  • Proven ability to manage externally grant-funded projects/programs and prepare environmental planning instruments and development control plans.
  • Sound knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations, including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and relevant Planning Reforms.
