Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Project Director to oversee and guide a dedicated team in ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and business requirements for personal information retention.

  • Leading a cohesive unit of 4 staff members to document, validate, and identify optimal retention timeframes for business assets containing personal data.
  • Assigning, monitoring, and managing day-to-day team activities to ensure timely outcomes.
  • Consulting and negotiating with technical, compliance, and governance teams to implement necessary solutions.
  • Collaborating with senior managers and business units to agree on maximum retention requirements for personal data.
  • Overseeing the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of controls, monitoring mechanisms, and governance processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
About You

You are an experienced project director or manager with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to guide a team to achieve meaningful outcomes in data privacy and governance.

  • Demonstrated experience leading small teams and managing day-to-day delivery.
  • Skilled in workload allocation, setting clear priorities, and fostering accountability.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, including working with senior management.
  • Solid understanding of data compliance requirements, particularly industry-specific regulations.
  • Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into practical system and process controls.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical/compliance requirements to business leaders.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating risks and issues that may impact delivery.
  • Ability to manage interdependencies between business units, systems, and processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to track progress and report on outcomes.
