Senior Mechanical Engineer Opportunity
Job Description:This permanent, full-time position at Dawson Mine is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the development and deployment of strategic mechanical engineering initiatives. The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline, obtained or working toward obtaining the relevant Practicing Certificate for Mechanical Engineering Manager (MEM), and Supervisor & Risk Facilitator competencies.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deploy strategic mechanical engineering initiatives aligned with the Engineering and Maintenance Strategy.
- Ensure compliance with SHMS obligations, Recognised Standards, and legislation as the Statutory Mechanical Engineer for the site.
- Represent the mechanical discipline in strategic planning sessions, including Life of Mine planning, department BARA reviews, and risk assessments.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and technical skills, with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide guidance to junior engineers.
Requirements:- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Obtained or working toward obtaining the relevant Practicing Certificate for Mechanical Engineering Manager (MEM).
