Teacher - Restorative Learning Specialist

The role of a teacher in this setting is multifaceted. Teachers work with students who have been excluded from mainstream educational settings and provide support to help them re-engage.

This requires the ability to design learning programs that are personalised, differentiated and data-informed. Teachers must also be able to establish a supportive and inclusive learning environment with clear focus on respect, resilience, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply Positive Behaviour Support, restorative practice, relational repair, trauma-sensitive approaches, and CPI Safety Interventions to meet diverse student needs.
  • Develop and deliver personalised learning programs that build engagement and pro-social skills through targeted literacy, numeracy, and personal and social capability development.
  • Engage in student transition processes, identifying risks and working collaboratively with leadership and external partners.
Requirements:
  • Establish strong working relationships with colleagues to create safe, supportive, and restorative learning environments.
  • Empower students to have agency in their learning by adapting your approach to support engagement, regulation, and growth.
