Job Description

The role of a Nursing Assistant is a vital part of our team. You will be working closely with donors, providing them with an exceptional service and ensuring their safety throughout the donation process.

As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our donors through their donation experience. This includes greeting and interviewing potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate, creating a donor experience they'll love—and want to come back, complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests, set up machines and collections equipment, insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets, monitor donors post-donation and assist them with rebooking their next donation, work collaboratively to achieve collection targets.

Our paid and flexible self-paced training program has a balance between on-the-job practice, and online class schedules to ensure that you are well supported. No prior experience in blood collection is needed, but you'll need to be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials, occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs, support and foster a fantastic team culture, frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products, be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts.
