Job Description:

We are seeking a Health Systems Compliance Specialist to oversee the coordination, administration and ongoing development of systems and processes for monitoring health practitioners' compliance with orders and conditions imposed on their registration.

The successful candidate will lead the monitoring functions required by the Council to enable effective assessment of compliance with orders and conditions imposed on practitioners' registration; including the reporting and management of non-compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and influence Council/Committee meetings, provide guidance and feedback to hearing members and HPCA staff on the effectiveness of conditions;
  • Develop, review and maintain the Council's Conditions Handbook and policies and procedures related to conditions to ensure that orders and conditions imposed are best practice, consistent and able to be effectively monitored to ensure public safety;
  • Provide advice and information to Council, practitioners, hearing members and other stakeholders on the interpretation of policies and procedures related to compliance with conditions;
  • Monitor trends in the regulatory environment and initiate research and continuous improvement projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness of monitoring within the Council;
  • Establish relationships with AHPRA and other external agencies / regulators who monitor practitioners, as well as partners and service providers who assist Council to monitor (such as Medicare, Health Insurance Commission, Pathology and pharmaceutical service providers) and facilitate strategic discussions in relation to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

- High level conceptual, problem-solving, planning, and policy development skills plus the capacity to identify and manage emerging and contentious issues to resolution;

- Ability to provide sound advice and make recommendations in relation to emerging issues concerning the regulation of health practitioners.
