About the Role

The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is seeking a highly skilled Energy Planning Manager to lead the development of long-term energy outlooks for Western Australia's electricity and gas demand and supply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain AEMO's annual flagship long-term planning publications
  • Provide technical insights and content to communicate emerging system security and reliability issues and opportunities
  • Advise on modelling capability uplift and ensure long-term requirements are satisfied in light of rapid energy transition
  • Engage with industry stakeholders to ensure alignment with AEMO's energy planning objectives
Requirements
  • Significant industry experience undertaking complex quantitative analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a diverse team within a complex, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Understanding of the political, legal and regulatory framework in which the energy industry operates
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts
