
Energy And Resources Meteorology Specialist

We are seeking a skilled meteorologist to join our team as an Energy and Resources Meteorology Specialist. This role will involve providing weather forecasts and warnings to the energy and resources sectors, including bespoke and tailored products and services to meet commercial arrangements with specific customers.
In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining a suite of products and services for the energy and resources sectors, including forecasting and warning systems. You will also contribute to the development of forecast policy and collaborate with other meteorologists to ensure the provision of a consistent suite of commercial services.
The successful candidate will have experience in an operational service delivery environment, with specialist E&R meteorological operations preferred but not essential. Training and certification will be provided to successful applicants if required.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Maintaining a suite of products and services for the energy and resources sectors
- Providing weather forecasts and warnings to the energy and resources sectors
- Contributing to the development of forecast policy
- Collaborating with other meteorologists to ensure the provision of a consistent suite of commercial services
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with customers and service partners.
This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in scientific, technical, professional fields by continually learning forecasting and customer requirements, contributing to E&R projects, participating in the Bureau's Performance Development Scheme, and mentoring less experienced staff.
Shift work is required for this role.
