About the Bureau: We are Australia's weather, climate, water, oceans and space weather agency. Our work touches the lives of all Australians every day. Our products and services include observations, forecasts, warnings, analysis and advice across Australia's atmosphere, water, oceans and space environments.
The Bureau operates under the authority of the Meteorology Act 1955 and the Water Act 2007, and supports international obligations under related meteorological treaties.
Position overview: The Energy & Resources (E&R) Program delivers $335m of impact and value to improve safety, reliability, resilience and productivity of the energy and resources sectors in Australia and the Asia-Pacific Region. The Project Manager, E&R, will plan, manage and deliver key project outcomes within the E&R Program in accordance with the Bureau Delivery Model.
The Project Manager will work under the direction of the Projects Team Lead to deliver projects with impact and value, collaborating with colleagues across Programs and managing technical input from areas such as the Data and Digital Group and Research and operational forecasting. Project management methodologies will be tailored under the guidance of the Bureau\'s Enterprise Portfolio Management Office.
Ideal candidate: a team-focused professional who is outcome-driven, communicates clearly with a range of people, possesses advanced project management skills, and adapts processes to suit each project to ensure appropriate control.
Role responsibilities- Plan and drive the delivery of projects, managing all delivery aspects including financial and resource forecasts, and supporting team performance.
- Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders to manage risks and issues and deliver project outcomes.
- Maintain project artefacts following prescribed standards and contribute to improvement of project management governance standards, processes and templates.
- Ensure the Bureau\'s Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion is applied in the work area.
- Comply with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your conduct.
A degree or diploma from an Australian educational institution, or a comparable overseas qualification appropriate to the duties; OR other comparable qualifications appropriate to the duties.
Merit poolThe selection process will establish a merit pool that may be used to fill similar positions within 18 months.
