Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operational Excellence to join our team at Epiroc Group. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving process improvements, optimizing resources, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Operational Strategies
    • Build a world-class SHEQ culture that meets and exceeds all KPI targets
    • Develop and implement operational strategies for process optimization
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline production processes
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, and quality control departments
    • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize product design for manufacturability
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production efficiency, cycle times, and ensure targets are met
  • Drive Cost-Reduction Initiatives
    • Drive cost-reduction initiatives in procurement, materials management, and inventory control while maintaining product quality standards
    • Lead and support change management efforts for the implementation of new technologies, automation, and process improvements
  • Team Development and Coaching
    • Team development, coaching, and mentoring to foster a high-performance culture
    • Ensure compliance with all industry standards, safety regulations, Epiroc ways of working, and environmental policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 8-10 years of operational leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally within mining or industrial equipment sectors
  • Deep understanding of Aftermarket and go-to-market strategy
  • Commercial experience running service operations, aftermarket, and consumables
  • Experience in building commercial models that maximize Epiroc's profit through selling customer value
  • Proven expertise in continuous improvement methodologies, with a strong focus on optimizing manufacturing processes and improving efficiency
  • In-depth understanding of lean processes
  • Strong track record of successfully leading large-scale operational improvements and managing cross-functional teams
  • Excellent people leadership skills, with experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing talent at all organizational levels
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical skills and the ability to drive operational success through KPIs and performance metrics
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change within a diverse team environment
