About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operational Excellence and Process Optimization to join our team at Epiroc Group. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving process improvements, optimizing resources, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Operational Strategies: Develop and implement operational strategies for process optimization, focusing on improving efficiency, reducing waste, and streamlining production processes.
- Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Lead cross-functional teams, working closely with engineering, production, supply chain, and marketing to identify inefficiencies, reduce costs, and ensure the highest levels of quality and safety in our equipment production.
- Build a World-Class SHEQ Culture: Build a world-class SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) culture, that meets and exceeds all KPI targets, in all that we do.
- Develop and Implement Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, and quality control departments.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production Teams: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize product design for manufacturability, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality output.
- Monitor and Analyze Key Performance Indicators: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production efficiency, cycle times, and to ensure targets are met.
- Drive Cost-Reduction Initiatives: Drive cost-reduction initiatives in procurement, materials management, and inventory control while maintaining product quality standards.
- Lead and Support Change Management Efforts: Lead and support change management efforts for the implementation of new technologies, automation, and process improvements.
- Team Development and Coaching: Develop, coach, and mentor team members to foster a high-performance culture.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with all industry standards, safety regulations, Epiroc Group ways of working, and environmental policies.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 8-10 years of operational leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally within mining or industrial equipment sectors.
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of Aftermarket and go-to-market strategy.
- Commercial experience running service operations, aftermarket, and consumables.
- Experience of building commercial models that maximize Epiroc Group's profit through selling customer value.
- Proven expertise in continuous improvement methodologies, with a strong focus on optimizing manufacturing processes and improving efficiency.
- In-depth understanding of lean processes.
- Strong track record of successfully leading large-scale operational improvements and managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent people leadership skills, with experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing talent at all organizational levels.
- Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical skills and the ability to drive operational success through KPIs and performance metrics.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and drive change within a diverse team environment.
