
Chief Tax Strategist

As a Senior Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for managing the tax responsibilities of our organization in the ANZ and APAC regions. You will collaborate with experts in the Tax Department to ensure the detailed completion of tax responsibilities. Your primary emphasis will be on coordinating tax advisory assistance for Australian and international taxes.
You will also partner with Group Finance, Aristocrat sectors, and external advisors to handle tax compliance and unexpected tax issues. You will be involved in larger tax projects or projects requiring tax input as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of direct and indirect tax regulation and mentorship. They will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience working effectively with global collaborators across time zones and cultures.
Responsibilities:- Preparation of income tax returns, associated schedules, and supporting calculations for Australia, New Zealand, and Asia Pacific countries.
- Crafting tax provision figures for half-year and year-end group financial statements.
- Preparation of tax effect accounting entries monthly.
- Preparation of other tax compliance obligations, including GST, FBT, PAYG Instalments, and PAYG withholding tax returns as required.
- Support with forecasting and planning processes for upcoming tax obligations.
- Assist with the annual Australian R&D incentive project, working closely with the business and consultants from outside the organization.
- Aid the Tax Group and the organization in managing ad-hoc tax matters as they surface.
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, with a major in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CA/CPA.
- Demonstrated expertise in direct and indirect tax regulation and mentorship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach, with the ability to navigate complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience working effectively with global collaborators across time zones and cultures.
