Job Title: Education Assistant

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students who require special needs assistance, providing individualized support and advice to schools and teachers on managing programs for these students.

The role involves working collaboratively in a team environment that includes teachers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, school psychologists, and education assistants. We provide specialist speech, language, and academic intervention for children from Kindergarten to Year 2.

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team of professionals who focus on developing strong oral language skills to support literacy. As an Education Assistant, you will assist in designing and implementing behaviour management plans, maintaining detailed records of their implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support and advice to schools and teachers on managing programs for students with special needs
  • Assist in designing and implementing behaviour management plans
  • Maintain detailed records of plan implementation
  • Inform parents about the education system, school procedures, and relevant school policies
  • Consult with parents and caregivers independently of teachers, though still under the supervision of the Psychologist in Charge

Eligibility requirements include being an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or having a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. You must also obtain a valid Working With Children Check and consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
