Part-Time Governance Officer Opportunity

A local council in the north-east is seeking a part-time Governance Officer to provide expert governance advice and support the council's governance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide governance advice to ensure compliance with statutory obligations and enhance organizational processes.
  • Support council meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking.
  • Maintain governance registers and ensure they are up to date.
  • Develop and review policies and procedures to improve governance practices.
  • Assist in managing the council's responsibilities as a naming authority.
  • Conduct governance-related research and projects as directed.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders to promote good governance.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of Local Government processes and legislation.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proven experience in governance or administrative roles.
