Speech Pathologist Opportunity in Regional Queensland

As a Speech Pathologist, you will have the chance to work in a hybrid model and contribute to the achievement of our practice's strategic goals and objectives. Our organisation is a provider of allied health care for people living in regional, rural and remote communities, and we believe that a person's health should not be determined by their postcode.

You will work closely with other team members to deliver comprehensive face-to-face and virtual allied health care, improving health outcomes for First Nations people. You will also have the opportunity to travel to rural and remote regions of Queensland and Northern Territory, with flexible working hours including part-time, long/short days, and 9 day fortnight.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary degree qualification in Speech Pathology, be a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) with 3 years or more experience, and be a member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA). You will also need a current Blue Card (Working with Children and young people), NDIS Worker Screening – Yellow Card, Satisfactory National Police Certificate, and a current Drivers Licence (Qld 'C' class licence).

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High level knowledge and skills in contemporary clinical practice standards in rural and remote speech pathology
  • Understanding and commitment to work sensitively and effectively with First Nations communities and their leaders, respecting traditional culture, values and ways of doing business
  • Experience or willingness to participate in the delivery of care through innovative service models, in particular virtual health and a supervision and delegation model
  • Ability to determine priorities and manage caseload to meet agreed timelines and objectives, establish trust and rapport with clients and key stakeholders
