Provider of multidisciplinary Allied Health services largely to participants of the NDIS, although currently expanding into community aged care and private clients.
The role functions in a close working relationship with other team members to actively contribute to the achievement of this practices strategic goals and objectives that include increased access to comprehensive face to face and virtual allied health care and improved health outcomes for First Nations people.Your Skills, Qualifications, & CompetenciesDemonstrated high level knowledge and skills in contemporary clinical practice standards in rural and remote speech pathologyDemonstrated understanding and commitment to work sensitively and effectively with First Nations communities and their leaders, respecting traditional culture, values and ways of doing business with an understanding of the health, social and emotional wellbeing issues that impact on First Nations people in rural and remote communitiesDemonstrated experience or willingness to participate in the delivery of care through innovative service models, in particular virtual health and a supervision and delegation modelDemonstrated ability to determine priorities and manage caseload to meet agreed timelines and objectives, establish trust and rapport with clients and key stakeholders with particular emphasis on interpersonal communication skills, maintaining confidentiality and effective clinical documentation and reportingWhat's on offer:Opportunity for varied work with travel to rural and remote regions of Queensland and Northern TerritoryFlexible working hours, including part-time, long/short days, 9 day fortnight (all negotiable)5 weeks annual leaveAnnual salary increase above CPI and in recognition of commitment and work approachProfessional development allowanceProfessional supervision support - internal or external and depending on years of experienceAccess to relocation allowance - depending on where you are relocating fromLeadership opportunitiesWorking in MDTPotential shareholding in the companyPosition Requirements:Tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Speech PathologyCertified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) with 3 years or more experienceMembership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)Current Blue Card (Working with Children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue CardNDIS Worker Screening - Yellow CardSatisfactory National Police CertificateCurrent Drivers Licence (Qld 'C' class licence) - essentialAfter Hours Requirements:Occasional travel including overnight stays - optional.Salary Information:Competitive remuneration on offerCar and travel allowance as appropriateAbout Cairns:Cairns, considered the gateway to Australia's Great Barrier Reef, is a city in tropical Far North Queensland.
