A career-defining opportunity has arisen for an experienced Intake Officer to join our team on a 4-month contract with potential for extension or permanency. Based in Campbelltown NSW or Mount Gravatt QLD, this role offers a competitive hourly rate and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of carers.

About the Role

The Intake Officer will be responsible for delivering intake services to carers accessing support across NSW and QLD service areas. The goal is to work closely with carers over the phone to access information, complete the intake process, and triage calls based on immediate needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level customer service, listening to carers with patience and non-judgement.
  • Deliver intake services as per the Carer Support Framework.
  • Triage calls effectively, supporting carers in crisis and linking them with further supports or transferring to the Emergency Respite team.
  • Navigate carers through the service, managing appointment schedules for planning teams.
  • Ensure the service approach incorporates key principles: Carer Focused, Practical and Flexible, Inclusive.

This role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to cope in a busy call centre environment. Prior experience in a similar industry is essential.
