Role Overview



We are seeking an innovative R&D Developer to join our team at Hanes Brands Inc. As a Product Development Specialist, you will work closely with our Design and Senior R&D Raw Material Developer teams to develop new sock products and support seasonal development streams.





  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new sock products and support seasonal development streams

  • Conduct research on new materials, including yarns, knitting methods, fabric treatments, and dyeing/printing techniques

  • Source materials for our brands, ensuring they meet our quality requirements and sustainability goals

  • Support the execution of technical department objectives and initiatives

  • Problem-solve issues throughout the product development process

  • Ensure our Product Line Management (PLM) database is consistently updated and accurate

  • Collaborate with satellite offices to identify strategic initiatives and process improvement opportunities



Requirements



  • 3+ years of related experience in the apparel/fashion textile industry, with experience in developing and sourcing fabrics and trims

  • Understanding of product design and development processes, from inception to production

  • Strategic problem-solving skills with the ability to provide insights and make practical recommendations

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to build strong business relationships

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills

  • You are a team player with an incredible work ethic

  • Strong attention to detail and data integrity

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of database systems

  • You will hold Textile Technology qualifications
