Job Description

This is a senior technology leadership position at Macquarie University, with a focus on driving digital innovation and operational excellence. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of a new product-based IT operating model, and will play a key role in shaping the University's technology strategy.

About the Role
  • Provide strategic direction and vision for the design and implementation of a market-leading, 160-person product-based operational support model.
  • Lead a large team through six senior managers across five key domains, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Develop and execute the University's technology strategy, aligning with its mission and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver resilient, scalable, and secure IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives, enhancing the experience for students, staff, and faculty.
  • Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with data governance and cybersecurity standards.
  • Work closely with the Chief Information and Digital Officer to reshape University technology delivery.
What We're Looking For
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in leadership of technology strategy, operational leadership, and product-based support models with at least 15 years of management experience in IT.
  • Strong expertise in cloud, networking, applications, and IT architecture.
  • Exceptional leadership and change management skills, with a track record of driving organizational transformation.
