Strategic Risk Management Professional

We are seeking an experienced technology and operational risk professional to join our team as a Technology Risk Partner, Retail Transformation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, with experience in undertaking risk-in-change assessments and reflecting impacts on IT and operational risk profiles.
The successful candidate will lead the identification, assessment, reporting, and monitoring of IT risks, controls, and issues resulting from change initiatives. This includes leading the capability on Risk-In-Change for Group Technology, implementing key requirements of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF), such as control self-assessment, risk event and incident management, key risk indicators (KRI), and issue management.
The role involves providing guidance on risk acceptance and design of remediation plans while balancing risk and reward, board risk appetite, and compliance requirements. Additionally, the successful candidate will support special initiatives with the Head of Technology Risk and the Chief Information Security and Technology Risk Officer, leading the delivery of risk awareness training sessions within the broader Group Technology division.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading risk-in-change assessments and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Developing and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to provide expert advice on risk management and mitigation
- Providing regular updates to senior leadership on risk-related matters
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of risk management principles and practices
- Experience in undertaking risk-in-change assessments and reflecting impacts on IT and operational risk profiles
- Knowledge of operational risk management frameworks, including APRA Prudential Standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
