Transform Newmont's Commercial function by developing a robust risk management framework that aligns with the company's global Tier 1 positioning.

About the Role

The newly created position of Strategic Risk Professional will be responsible for identifying and mitigating risks across Commercial, supply chain, sales and marketing, and inbound and outbound logistics. This role requires a deep understanding of risk assessment, mitigation strategy, and crisis management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive risk program that integrates mitigation strategies and enhances tools and processes in alignment with Newmont's Risk Management Systems, policies, and standards.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards, vulnerabilities, and exposures, including geological, environmental, operational, and regulatory risks.
  • Design risk mitigation plans tailored to specific supply/sales channels, supplier/customer segments, and geographic markets, balancing business objectives with risk exposure.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in global organisation Commercial Risk strategy, solid influencing skills, expert geopolitical disruption advisory capability, and a depth of knowledge of leveraging data analytics and technology solution optimisation.

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate Degree in Risk Management Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, and/or Business Administration.
  • Post-graduate qualification in relevant discipline preferred.
  • Relevant large scale mining and/or natural resources global operations experience.
