About the Role

This is a hands-on position that will report directly to the Electrical & Automation Supervisor, based in our manufacturing facility at Wellcamp. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in industrial settings, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements for Workplace Health and Safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure training and compliance in the use of Wagner's Safety Management System at all operations
  • Understand and adhere to Wagner's risk management policies and practices, identifying and tracking project risks and issues
  • Accountable for undertaking day-to-day electrical operations, ensuring scheduled industrial electrical installation, maintenance work, and emergency breakdowns are completed within required timeframes
  • Ensure accurate completion of all electrical work undertaken to reduce rework, faults, and breakdowns
  • Monitor and work to reduce costs associated with electrical repair and maintenance, prolonging the life operation of machinery and reducing downtime
  • Investigate plant or equipment deficiencies leading to out-of-spec finished goods and assist in ensuring BRC and other standards are met
  • Work with PLCs, variable speed drives, and other automation technologies
  • Provide professional advice to Wagners' Managers regarding electrical planning and operations required for efficient plant and equipment operation
  • Ensure work is undertaken in a responsive and positive manner
  • Respond to unforeseen circumstances and emergency situations
Requirements
  • Work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical equipment
  • Electric motors and control wiring
  • Resistive load controls
  • Interpret drawings and make changes if needed
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic control wiring
  • Sound working knowledge with PLCs, variable speed drives, other automation equipment, and AS3000
  • Minimum 5 years' post-trade experience preferred but not essential
  • Awareness and understanding of WH & S Electrical Safety Standards
  • Electrical Trade Qualification (electrical Fitter / Electrical mechanic)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • LRV Certificate
