Job Opportunity

Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive organisation committed to serving its vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. We are seeking a Coordinator Social Planning to lead our Community Development team in producing evidence-based strategies and plans that drive positive social change and improve community wellbeing.

The role influences the council's broader planning, social infrastructure investment and decision-making processes through the provision of advice about local cultural, economic, environmental and social standards based on data, public policy and behavioural trends.

About the Role:

  • Lead and provide accountability in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of social planning policy and plans for the city
  • Provide general Social Planning advice on the domains of local cultural, economic, environmental and social standards to inform the council's broader planning processes
  • Lead and take accountability for the Community Investment Program, ensuring rounds are on-schedule and guided by local area priorities and the community's strategic vision
  • Coordinate the council's engagement of Community Housing Providers

About You:

  • Extensive experience developing evidence-based studies, needs assessments, data analysis as well as experience developing strategy, plans and procedural documents that address these issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge of public policy issues and stakeholders, including the role of different levels of government and the non-profit service sector
