Job Description

The Depot Maintenance Manager plays a pivotal role within the New Intercity Fleet (NIF) project team, overseeing the management and leadership of Service Delivery Managers at Maintenance and Commissioning Facilities. The position ensures timely, cost-effective, and safe maintenance activities on the NIF Train, meeting project objectives for safety, environmental performance, availability, reliability, quality, and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide strategic direction in safety, quality, and environmental governance to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Direct team members to execute tasks according to rostered schedules, agreed instructions, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure the train meets availability and reliability requirements and work is completed as per scheduled plans.
  • Raise accurate notifications, service orders, and close service orders in the Asset Information System.
  • Coach and mentor staff to foster a continuous improvement culture and process ownership.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Key Competencies:

  • More than 10 years of relevant management and supervisory experience.
  • Proven expertise in managing safety, quality, and environmental aspects of an operation.
  • Knowledge of business improvement techniques, such as lean and 5S methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
