As a key member of our team, the Patient Services Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring seamless patient experiences.
About the Role:- This position requires an individual who is highly organized, effective communicator, and has basic computer skills to handle various tasks with efficiency.
- Promptly answer and direct all incoming phone calls to the appropriate area.
- Accurately check patients in and out while maintaining efficient workflows.
- Verify and update patient demographics as needed.
- Confirm and enter patient insurance information accurately.
- Schedule patients according to clinic protocols and guidelines.
- Prepare charts and print encounter tickets prior to patient visits.
- Document appointments and responses in electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Upload laboratory, imaging, and other procedural results into patient e-charts.
- Collect outstanding balances, co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles from patients.
- Reconcile cash drawers according to business office guidelines.
- Process inbound and/or outbound referrals effectively.
- The successful candidate will adhere to organization-wide policies and procedures.
- Daily performance will meet the hospital's Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
- They will comply with Ethics, Compliance, and Confidentiality Program guidelines at all times.
- Perform within their professional Scope of Practice.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior education or training related to the clinic specialty is preferred but not necessary.
- At least one year of experience in a healthcare-related field is essential.
- Prior experience working in a medical practice/office is highly valued.
- The ideal candidate should possess basic computer skills, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel to satellite clinics.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience with electronic medical records are preferred but not required.
- A valid Texas Driver's License is mandatory.
- Certification related to physician practice or clinical setting is highly valued but not necessary.
