About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team in Mandurah. As a key member of our care team, you will provide a safe and supportive environment for young people who have experienced trauma and neglect.

Your primary responsibility will be to assist the live-in Senior Residential Care Worker in supporting the young person to develop independent living skills, manage their emotions, and re-engage in education and their community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist young people to achieve goals identified in Individual Case Plans
  • Support the young person's interests and help them develop independence
  • Establish a rapport and collaborate effectively with young people to achieve positive outcomes
  • Manage behavioural escalations and assist the young person to co-regulate emotionally
  • Domestic duties and supporting the young person to learn how to look after themselves
Requirements
  • Certificate in Youth Work, Mental Health, or relevant qualification (or willing to work towards qualifications)
  • Experience working with young people who have experienced significant trauma and neglect, including the management of behaviours of concern
  • Ability to demonstrate highly effective interpersonal skills with young people and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and have strong understanding of professional boundaries
