Job Description

The Hospital Head of Department plays a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal functioning of clinical services within a department, fostering high-quality patient care and prudent resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service Coordination: Organize and maintain clinical services within the department, guaranteeing seamless delivery of care.
  • Ensure Policies Adherence: Adhere to hospital policies and guidelines, maintaining a culture of compliance and accountability.
  • Provide Consultant Expertise: Perform duties assigned as a consultant physician, leveraging expertise to drive quality outcomes.
  • Patient Care: Assume responsibility for patients under medical care, prioritizing their well-being and safety.
  • Routine Activities: Conduct rounds, supervise inpatient treatment, and screen outpatients, maintaining a focus on efficient service delivery.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise medical staff and report activities to the department head or chairman, promoting effective team management.
  • Committee Participation: Participate in committees to upgrade services and organize work within and outside the hospital, driving strategic partnerships and growth.
  • Professional Development: Contribute to planning and implementing departmental development and staff training programs, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Medical Education: Engage in medical education and research activities, remaining at the forefront of best practices and innovation.
  • Intervention Planning: Perform interventions relevant to the specialization, aligning with the needs of patients and the organization.
  • Health Education: Participate in health education programs, disseminating knowledge and promoting healthy behaviors.
