About the Role:

The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) is seeking an external member to join its ranks. This role is a unique opportunity for an individual with strong governance expertise to contribute to the IBC's mission.

\

Job Description:

\
  • Ensure all practices involving gene technology, biosecurity-regulated materials and biologically-hazardous materials are conducted in accordance with legislation, Australian Standards, codes of practice and licensing requirements.\
\

Key Responsibilities:

\
  • Exercise unfettered and independent judgement in relation to proposed dealings.\
  • Provide advice, recommendations and oversight of relevant policies and procedures.\
\

Requirements:

\
  • A strong understanding of biosafety regulations and Australian Standards.\
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.\
\
