Job Title: Dairy Farm Positions

We are seeking experienced dairy professionals to join our team in a dairy farm located in regional Victoria.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of dairy cattle farming, including animal husbandry and feed management.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the dairy farm, ensuring compliance with workplace and OH&S legislation.
  • Achieve budgeted and physical performance targets through effective management and planning.
  • Manage milk harvesting, milk quality, and staff rosters to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.

Agricultural Technician Role:

  • Develop and implement feeding programs for springing cows to optimize growth rates and overall herd health.
  • Inspect and monitor the nutritional needs of the herd, ensuring adequate nutrient management planning.
  • Select cows for artificial insemination and assist with semen selection to improve breeding outcomes.

Dairy Cattle Farm Operator Role:

  • Operate milking plant and equipment, ensuring efficient and safe milk harvesting practices.
  • Monitor instrument information, such as milk vat temperatures and cow numbers, to maintain optimal dairy production levels.
  • Undertake multiple functions to produce high-quality milk, including operating standard measuring equipment and computerized systems.

Requirements:

  • Patient, hardworking, resourceful, trustworthy, loyal, efficient individuals who possess a strong understanding and passion for the dairy industry.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable, demonstrating a broad and coherent body of knowledge of milk source and composition.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team, communicating ideas and collaborating to achieve shared goals.

Remuneration Package:

A competitive remuneration package is available between $70,000 - $100,000 plus superannuation, negotiated depending on skills and experience.
