As a medical professional, you will have opportunities to gain experience in dealing with complex cardiac and cardiothoracic patients. The role involves providing medical care in conjunction with specialists and admitting medical officers to secure optimum health outcomes.

The Department of Adult Medicine comprises subspecialties including Aged Care, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Oncology, General Medicine, Neurology, Respiratory, Haematology, Palliative Care and Cardiology. You will be working in a dynamic and innovative clinical environment offering world-class services and access to modern facilities and equipment.

Clinical rotations include Medicine and Relief, with opportunities for terms in Cardiology, Aged Care, General Medicine and MAU, and potentially other specialties. To be successful, you must meet the following selection criteria:

  • You must hold a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Demonstrated clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner for a minimum of three years with progress towards career goals in Medicine.
  • You must demonstrate clinical competency and an ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment.
  • You must demonstrate commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  • You must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and problem solving skills in the clinical setting.
