About the Role

Wellways Australia Limited seeks a dedicated and compassionate LGBTIQA+ Support Worker to join our team in Geelong, VIC. As a Peer Recovery Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting LGBTIQA+ young people and their families/carers across Ballarat, Geelong, and the Surf Coast.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and connection to LGBTIQA+ individuals through co-created relationships built on trust, understanding, and shared experiences.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly data entry and maintain accurate file notes, as well as various program documentation.
Requirements
  • You must identify as a member of the LGBTIQA+ community.
  • Lived experience of suicidal ideation or attempt, suicide bereavement, or being a close connection to someone who has died by suicide is essential.
  • Completion of a Certificate IV in Mental Health, Peer Work, or equivalent practical experience working in a lived experience role is required.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary package including SCHADS Level 4B $43.08-$46.35/hour + leave loading + super + salary packaging up to $15,899 per annum.

  • Paid parental leave after 12 months of ongoing employment, 17.5% leave loading, meal and entertainment allowance via salary packaging, and access to our Employee Assistance Program.
