Job Overview

We are looking for Support Workers who possess industry experience, manual handling skills, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals to achieve their goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex care and high physical needs, with a focus on enabling participants to make informed choices and take control of their lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sleep Over Shifts: Work in supported disability accommodation to provide 24/7 support to participants with medical needs and manual handling requirements.
  • Complex Care Management: Manage and coordinate care plans, ensuring the individual's needs are met and exceeded.
  • Manual Handling and Transfers: Safely transfer and move participants using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • AT Equipment Utilization: Effectively use assistive technology to support participants in achieving independence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Cert III in Disability Services or Equivalent: Possess relevant qualifications or 12 months of experience in the disability sector.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check: Hold a valid NDIS Worker Orientation module (NDIS Quality Safety & You) certification.
  • Working with Children Check: Obtain a Working with Children Check for underage participants only.
  • Driver's Licence and Car Insurance: Hold a current driver's licence and car insurance.
  • Reliable Vehicle: Possess a reliable vehicle for transport purposes.
  • First Aid and CPR: Maintain current First Aid and CPR certifications.

Mandatory Requirements

Please note that possession of the following mandatory requirements is essential:

  • 1 Year as a DSW in NDIS Sector: Have at least one year of experience as a Disability Support Worker in the NDIS sector.
