Senior Emergency Response Trainer

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Emergency Response Trainer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering emergency response training programs that meet contractual requirements.
  • The Senior Emergency Response Trainer will develop departmental-specific curriculum guidelines consistent with national legislation, best practices, and program implementation.
  • They will also support the development of assessment tools to ensure appropriate systems, governance, and processes are in place to manage ongoing skills and competency maintenance.
  • In addition, the Senior Emergency Response Trainer will contribute to the development of training curriculum, learning guides, and assessment procedures for emergency response topics at a state and national level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver emergency response training programs.
  • Develop departmental-specific curriculum guidelines.
  • Support the development of assessment tools.
  • Contribute to the development of training curriculum.
  • Oversee the Fire Development Program.
  • Coordinate and deliver formal training across various locations in Australia.
  • Support Fire Crews with planning and facilitating team training activities.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with operational and emergency procedures documents.

Necessary Qualifications and Skills:

  • A background in firefighting and first aid capability to assist with knowledge regarding within the training and assessment requirements.
  • Evidence matrix of skills and competencies to support fire fighting background.
  • Familiar with emergency services and operational excellence practices.
  • Experience in training and people management.
  • Experience in high-risk and diverse emergency response organizations is highly desirable.

Required Certifications and Education:

  • PUA50120 Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management).
  • PUA30622 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations).
  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Diploma of Vocational Education & Training desirable).
  • PUAFIR205 Respond to aviation incident (specialist).
  • PUAFIR305 Respond to aviation incidents (general).
  • HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid or higher qualification.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Must be able to maintain a defence baseline security clearance as an Australian Citizen.
