We are looking for an experienced Chef to oversee kitchen operations and lead our dynamic kitchen team at Populus Café.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare and cook food using various techniques such as baking, frying, grilling, steaming, stir-frying, boiling, etc.

· Develop and implement menus in consultation with management, ensuring high-quality and efficient food preparation.

· Estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies to maintain optimal kitchen inventory levels.

· Conduct regular quality checks on raw and cooked food products to ensure compliance with established standards.

· Recruit and train kitchen staff, including new cooks, to maintain a well-skilled and efficient team.

· Ensure food freshness and suitability by maintaining proper storage conditions and rotating stock regularly.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualifications
  • Minimum 12 months of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a team effectively
