Populus Cafe Chef Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced chef to lead our kitchen team at Populus Cafe. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring the highest quality of food products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare menus in consultation with management, ensuring a high level of culinary excellence.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation, adhering to food safety standards and procedures.
  • Estimate food and labor costs, order supplies, and manage inventory to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
  • Recruit, train, and manage kitchen staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum 12 months of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a team.
