About the Role


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our team at St Benedict's Catholic College, Oran Park. As a key member of our teaching staff, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality Science education to our students, fostering a love of learning and promoting academic excellence.



Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching Science: Design and deliver engaging Science lessons, catering to the diverse needs of our students, and promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
  • Classroom Environment: Establish and maintain a safe, supportive, and well-structured learning environment, based on the principles of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L).
  • Student Support: Apply knowledge of students' diverse needs to support their full participation in learning, and provide targeted support to ensure academic success.
  • Assessment and Reporting: Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning, and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Demonstrate a commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community, and contribute to the development of a positive and supportive school culture.


Requirements

  • Qualifications: Hold appropriate qualifications for teaching Science, and be registered to teach with NESA.
  • Accreditation: Hold Level B Accreditation in accordance with the To Work, Teach and Lead policy, or be committed to gaining Level B Accreditation within the first 5 years of employment.
  • Working with Children Check: Hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to commencing employment.
