About the Role

The Canteen Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the canteen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and maintaining a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Safety and Quality Control
    • Implement and maintain food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with NSW Healthy School Canteen Guidelines.
    • Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate records of inventory and sales.
  • Canteen Operations
    • Manage the canteen budget and ensure efficient use of resources.
    • Coordinate the menu and special lunch days, taking into account dietary requirements and student preferences.
    • Supervise and train canteen volunteers to ensure they are aware of food safety procedures and protocols.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service to students and staff, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience in the canteen.
    • Respond to customer feedback and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Collaborate with the school administration and staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of canteen operations.
    • Participate in school events and activities to promote the canteen and build relationships with students and staff.

Requirements:

  • Relevant NSW Working with Children Registration.
  • Certificate III or relevant experience in a related field.
  • First Aid training is desirable.
