Quality Assurance Specialist Job

We're seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring timely and effective implementation of our policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the quality of our award-winning manufactured products.

As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. You'll conduct routine and non-routine product quality tests, monitor product colour, consistency and aesthetics, and perform routine micro monitoring programs for finished product.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality testing and monitoring to ensure compliance with ISO Standards and HACCP.
  • Perform visual inspections to monitor product quality.
  • Sample, test, approve, and label raw materials, packaging, and promotional materials.
  • Collect and send samples to external labs for testing as required.
  • Calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
Reporting, Auditing and Investigating:
  • Prepare routine and non-routine reports on quality issues and trends.
  • Assist with investigations of customer complaints and product recalls.
  • Manage the routine micro monitoring program for finished product.
  • Assist with internal and external food safety audits.
  • Maintain and improve systems, procedures, and record keeping systems.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Food/Science/Microbiology/Chemistry or Laboratory qualifications.
  • Knowledge of GMP/HACCP.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Technical understanding of Quality and Food Safety including Root Cause Analysis.
  • Intermediate computer literacy – Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
