Traffic Engineering Project Manager Job Description

As a Traffic Engineering Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in the success of our company's traffic engineering department. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the planning, management, and execution of various traffic engineering projects.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills, strong analytical and decision-making abilities, and a deep understanding of transportation engineering principles.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, manage, and execute traffic engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Negotiate with public and private sector stakeholders.
  • Represent clients/projects at public meetings.
  • Interface directly with clients and supervise subcontractors.
  • Provide senior-level traffic engineering and project management expertise.
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable project engineers.
  • Supervise, delegate, and provide regular feedback/reviews to direct reports.
  • Perform project administrative activities, including proposal preparation, monthly billing, and billing projections.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Possess a bachelor's degree in civil or transportation engineering from an accredited university.
  • Possess Professional Engineering license (in NC and/or VA, SC).
  • Have 5+ years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Have experience working with state and local public agencies.
  • Possess strong analytical, decision-making, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Use strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Be comfortable with Synchro and other transportation engineering software packages standard in the industry.
