Energy Policy and Strategy Specialist

Our organization offers specialist management consultancy services to the power and energy sector. We work with energy companies, policymakers, regulators, and developers operating across the energy sector on complex challenges.

Role Purpose:

Provide regulatory, strategic, and technical advice to develop policy and strategy solutions for complex energy problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and run analysis with energy market models.
  • Manage projects to meet client objectives on time and within budget.
  • Deliver high-quality reports and deliverables.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment, building trusted relationships with clients, management, and project teams.
  • Develop business opportunities through external professional networks.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in a scientific or policy field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a policy and strategy role, ideally in the energy sector or a related technical field.
  • Good working knowledge of the energy sector in Australia, including current challenges and transitioning needs.
  • Experience with policy settings surrounding energy systems and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks.

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills combined with an understanding of client needs and broader strategic context.
  • Collaboration and engagement, finding solutions by accommodating competing objectives and interests.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, presenting qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Deadline orientation, with strong project management expertise.
