Job Title: Market Risk Analyst

About the Role

The ASIC Market Infrastructure team is seeking a skilled Market Risk Analyst to contribute to the stability and integrity of Australia's financial markets.

The successful candidate will assess market participants, conduct supervision activities, and deliver regulatory outcomes that promote compliance with the law.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement regulatory strategies and interventions to support compliance and address misconduct or market integrity risks.
  • Assess the suitability of financial products admitted to public markets and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Conduct research and analysis on market developments and emerging issues to inform regulatory priorities, law reform, and guidance.
  • Draft clear, accurate reports, submissions, presentations, and internal advice on regulatory matters.
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to inform regulatory judgments and monitor sector trends.
  • Coordinate engagement with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, economics, or law.
  • Foundational understanding of exchange-traded financial products and financial market infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with legislation such as the Corporations Act and ASIC's Market Integrity Rules.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to support regulatory decision-making.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a collaborative mindset.
