Position Overview

We are pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Operations Manager to oversee our operations in the Hervey Bay region, including Bundaberg and Maryborough. In this crucial role, you will guide teams in achieving daily operational goals across various contracts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting a diverse workforce, including both blue-collar operations and drivers across multiple sites, as well as white-collar management, supervisory, and administrative staff.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, community stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Demonstrating leadership by developing, coaching, and training your teams.
  • Collaborating with operations supervisors to regularly assess compliance with regulations and requirements, including occupational health and safety, environmental standards, and fleet management, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

We are in search of a proactive leader who excels in team engagement and possesses a thorough understanding of occupational health, safety, environment, and quality (OHSEQ) principles, as well as operational efficiency in transport services. A current HR (Heavy Rigid) License is advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in leading and mentoring large teams of both blue-collar and white-collar employees.
  • A leadership style that promotes employee engagement and fosters a culture of respect while achieving operational objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Background in transport, logistics, or service industries is highly valued.
  • Proven experience with management systems and processes, including reporting, budgeting, and technology adoption.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the emotional intelligence to adapt to various audiences and management levels.
