Position Overview

We are pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Operations Manager to take charge of our operations in the Hervey Bay region, including oversight of Bundaberg and Maryborough. In this crucial position, you will guide teams in achieving daily operational goals across various contracts.

Your responsibilities will include managing a diverse workforce comprising both blue-collar operations and drivers across multiple sites, as well as a white-collar team consisting of managers, supervisors, and administrative staff. You will cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, community members, and vendors. By leading through example, you will mentor, coach, and train your teams to enhance their capabilities.

In collaboration with operations supervisors, you will consistently assess compliance with regulations and requirements, including occupational health and safety, environmental standards, and fleet management, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

We are in search of a proactive leader who excels in engaging teams and possesses a deep understanding of occupational health, safety, environmental quality, compliance, and efficiency principles vital for excellence in transport operations. A current HR (Heavy Rigid) License is advantageous.
You should have a proven track record in leading and coaching large teams of both blue-collar and white-collar employees. Your leadership approach should foster employee engagement and cultivate a culture of respect while driving operational objectives and key performance indicators.
Experience in the transport, logistics, or service sectors is highly valued. You should demonstrate proficiency in management systems and processes, including the preparation of leadership reports, budget management, and the integration of various technologies.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the emotional intelligence to adapt your communication style to diverse audiences and management levels.
