As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless logistics and procurement operations. This exciting opportunity involves coordinating the acquisition and delivery of essential materials and services to support our research and development endeavors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate technical requirements into actionable procurement strategies and requests for quotes.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers across various categories, including raw materials, chemicals, mechanical components, and electrical/electronic parts.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions/orders in our ERP system, track approvals, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Review supplier terms and conditions, coordinate legal review when required, and support negotiation of price, lead time, minimum order quantity, and warranty/returns.
  • Place and track orders, manage estimated times of arrival, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate airfreight-first imports via our preferred carrier, manage customs clearance, and prepare/import necessary documentation.
  • Conduct goods-in checks for accuracy, damage, and documentation, address non-conformances with suppliers, and release accepted goods to inventory.
  • Establish and maintain inventory records for consumables, components, and tools.
  • Perform stocktakes and rolling cycle counts, restock consumables to prevent production downtime.
  • Tag and register capital assets, coordinate calibration/servicing bookings, and maintain safe storage for consumables, parts, and tools.
  • Run supplier onboarding against checklists, maintain supplier master data, track delivery performance, and quality to inform future sourcing decisions.
  • Three-way match orders, deliveries, and invoices, liaise with our finance team on timely payments, and maintain clean digital records.

You will collaborate closely with our engineering team and external supply chain experts to ensure seamless operations. A hands-on approach in a fast-paced startup environment requires confidentiality and good judgment.

Requirements
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing or R&D environments, strong organizational skills, and confident communication with suppliers.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in procurement/purchasing/logistics coordination.
  • Preferred: Certificate IV/Diploma in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field, import/shipping basics (Incoterms, HS codes, country of origin), familiarity with our ERP system and Microsoft 365.
  • Work rights: Full Australian work rights (no visa sponsorship).
