About the Role
This is an exciting new position in VIC to support the existing sales team. As the application specialist, you will be responsible for the high-end equipment - robotics portfolio. A team of local field service engineers will be available to assist. Although you will be mainly based in Melbourne CBD, some regional travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to sales objectives and provide product/technical expertise as needed.
  • Collaborate with sales specialists/account managers, instrument specialists, and commercial managers to grow sales in key product lines.
  • Actively promote applications support services.
  • Conduct instruments/software demonstrations and manage customer product evaluations for the robotic portfolio.
  • Develop applications and methods to meet customer requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with competitor products and provide technical advice on competitive sales strategies.
  • Maintain positive supplier relationships, particularly with technical support channels.
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting equipment/applications as needed.
  • Work with field service engineers when fault diagnosis requires reviewing customer applications.
  • Manage the installation of new instrumentation and customer training, ensuring the instrument meets specifications.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a relevant scientific industry.
  • Science degree or similar tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
  • Experience with writing and optimizing programs is essential for this role.
  • Expertise in the product portfolio and relevant applications.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills.
  • Good communication skills.
