Job Summary:

The position of Communications Officer is a key role within the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic communications plan, coordinating internal and external events, promoting centre research to various stakeholders, and providing business support to the Chief Operating Officer.

This varied role requires strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to provide creative solutions to problems. To be successful in this position, you will have a degree in a relevant field or extensive experience in communications, event management, video production, graphic design, or social media marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to enhance the Centre's external presence
  • Coordinate internal and external events, including event management, promotion, and logistics
  • Promote centre research to government, industry, and schools through digital communications channels
  • Contribute to the production, distribution, and monitoring of media and social media content
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in communications, event management, video production, graphic design, or social media marketing
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Self-motivation and initiative, with a high level of creativity and problem-solving skills
