Key Responsibilities- Greet and Interview Potential Donors: You will be responsible for greeting and interviewing potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate.
- Conduct Routine Blood Pressure and Haemoglobin Tests: You will conduct routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests to ensure the health and safety of our donors.
- Set Up Machines and Equipment: You will be responsible for setting up machines and equipment, including various tubing and collection bags, to ensure a smooth and efficient donation process.
- Insert and Remove Needles Safely: You will insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets, while ensuring the health and safety of our donors.
- Provide Clinical Oversight: You will provide clinical oversight and guidance to other team members in the blood collection process, ensuring that our donors receive the highest level of care.
- Manage Adverse Donor Reactions: You will be responsible for managing adverse donor reactions by providing instructions and physical assistance, ensuring that our donors receive the necessary care and support.
- Monitor Donors Post-Donation: You will monitor donors post-donation and assist them in rebooking for their next donation, ensuring that our donors receive the highest level of care and support.
- Nursing Expertise: You will need to have nursing expertise and hold a current AHPRA registration.
- Flexibility: You will need to be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster from Monday to Sunday.
- Physical Demands: You will need to be able to occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs, frequently stand, walk, and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products.
