Job Title: APS 5 Grants Manager

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise in grant management and compliance. As an APS 5 Grants Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring that government-funded programs are delivered effectively to support Australian people and communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage regularly with funded organisations to ensure that programs are being delivered in a way that is consistent with the requirements of the grant agreement.
  • Build networks and relationships with funded organisations, as well as other key stakeholders such as the not-for-profit community sector, Commonwealth, state and territory governments, local government, peak representative organisations, and research bodies.
  • Gather local intelligence on how programs are being delivered on-the-ground to inform policy development and program re-design.
  • Provide training and support to new staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their role.
  • Supervise junior staff and provide coaching, development opportunities, and performance feedback.
  • Prepare, review, and manage the production, dissemination, and storage of correspondence, reports, briefings, and other documentation.
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating and influencing to achieve project deliverables, enhance service delivery, and strengthen departmental networks.
Requirements:
  • Previous leadership experience in administration, assessment, and compliance environments.
  • Resilience and ability to handle tough conversations.
  • Reliability and ability to work towards deadlines.
  • Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain or have Baseline security clearance.
