A natural leader with a passion for mining and a commitment to safety and results is sought after to lead a mining crew at Caval Ridge Project in Moranbah, QLD. This is an opportunity to work with a high-performing team in one of Australia's most productive coal mines, where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to grow.

This leadership role involves:

  • Supporting the Production Supervisor by leading a mining crew to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.
  • Stepping up as a supervisor when needed.
  • Performing regular inspections and completing reports as per site policies.
  • Coordinating dispatch personnel, production operators, and equipment to meet production schedules.
  • Applying mining practices to help reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Looking for ways to continuously improve.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience as a Step-Up Supervisor or Leading Hand in open-cut coal mining.
  • A solid understanding of open-cut coal mining operations.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and presentation skills with a friendly and motivational approach.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Relevant qualifications in the coal mining industry.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • A verified machinery skills list (training transcripts) LMS documents, signed by SSE or Delegate.
  • Current S123 and G2 certifications.
  • Current Standard 11.
  • Current Drivers Licence.

We are offering a permanent full-time opportunity with a 7/7 roster and 12.5hr shifts – Rotating Day & Night.
